HIV Prevention Care and Treatment
AFRIcai supports the provision of comprehensive HIV prevention, Care, Treatment and promote services across general, key and vulnerable populations in Pwani, Dar es Salaam, and Mwanza. AFRIcai believes sustainable health services from Health systems strengthening at specific WHO as:
- Health infrastructure improvements for better quality of services e.g provision of Laboratory equipment, placement of bedding materials, repairs to facilitate TB infection control
- National Level response and support to scale up HIV viral load suppression and testing
Prevention of Gender Based (GBV) and Violence Against Children (VAC)
AFRICai has integrated community based Gender Based Violence (GBV) and Violence against Children (VAC) interventions as one of the strategy to address gender equality and child protection issues in Pwani and lake zone regions (Mwanza, Mara, Geita, and Kagera inclusive).
To date 164 households from Rufiji and Kisarawe Districts are trained on prevention of gender based violence and providing psychosocial support services to GBV and VAC victims.
671 communities have been integrated as of Dec 2019.
AFRICai is rising awareness in the community and train children on their rights and responsibilities. We do this through building capacity of targeted primary schools and communities to address security issues and protections to children. The aim of the intervention is to build resilience among OVCs.
We are currently promoting child protection issues through sports in schools in Pwani Regions. AFRIcai supports OVC to access school supplies such as exercise books and bags. We are also building capacity to care givers on child protection and the techniques to address child abuse and violence against children.
The education quality and literacy level needs to display the successful literacy index, employability and productivity rate. We are therefore promoting education by supporting the friendly and safe environment for children to study. We do this through renovating classrooms, clean and safe water, and improving libraries.
Our activities are advocating for improved education policy with country plans and Sustainable Development Goal No.4 (quality education).
